Bowls Leicestershire have issued the following in respect of playing in hot weather. 

 

If there is an official Red Hot weather warning in force for the arranged day of play which is still current on the day before the arranged date,  then the matches must be rearranged.

• If the temperature is predicted to be over 30 degrees, then the match must be re- arranged. 

• If County Competitions are postponed the home team must contact the competition secretary to discuss timings for re- arranged matches. 

 

If temperatures are below those stated above but still hot, then players must take care and act accordingly trying to re-arrange matches at cooler times,

ensure to keep hydrated and stand in the shade if possible, taking breaks and reduce the number of ends played.

 

Can you please ensure all your affected players are aware of this.

Club Secretaries should also note that although this email refers to County Competitions and Matches, similar care should be taken with all other club bowling. i.e. club friendlies, club competitions, league matches,  and roll ups.
